Competition Terms and Conditions

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These terms apply to all competitions, prize draws, or similar operating across all Gaydio brands and companies.

Unless stated, the promoter is Gaydio CIC, Suite 1A Manchester One, M1 3LF.

1) Competitions are open to residents of the United Kingdom (including Isle of Man and Channel Islands) only. Employees or volunteers of Gaydio CIC, Gaydio Brighton, Gaydio Digital, their partners, contributors, recent guests or their immediate families, agencies, or anyone else directly connected with the competition are not eligible to enter.

2) By entering any competition all participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the rules. All entry instructions form part of the rules.

3) All prizes are subject to availability. There will be no cash alternative.

4) Source material utilised by our question compilers will be taken as correct. The decision of the Gaydio judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

5) Callers are not necessarily entitled to participate in the on-air competition and will not necessarily appear on-air in the order in which they are called. Gaydio is not obliged to reimburse callers for telephone charges when either on hold or on air.

6) Entry into the competition is deemed as agreement to take part in publicity accompanying or resulting from the competition.

7) Responsibility cannot be accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed in transit to the competition address. Proof of posting will not be accepted as proof of receipt.

8) In the case of a prize draw, the first correct entry drawn will be the winner.

9) Entries will become the property of Gaydio and will not be returned.

10) Entry into the competition is free and Lottery and Gaming regulations do not apply.

11) No liability will be accepted on the part of Gaydio, its co-promoters or agents for any loss, illness or injury resulting directly or otherwise from participation in any competition or promotion.

12) No liability on the part of Gaydio, its co-promoters or agents will be accepted for any action, civil or otherwise, taken against individual participants in the promotion.

13) Entrants into the promotion have no claim whatsoever to any intellectual or other property connected to any promotion, which remains in the sole ownership of Gaydio.

14) No promotional activity with any 3rd party, can be undertaken by any participant, before or after the promotion, without the express written consent of Gaydio.

15) Collusion with other participants is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate disqualification.

16) Entrants may be required to take part in future promotional activity exclusively for Gaydio before/during and/or after the promotion in connection with the promotion.

17) Gaydio reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions without notification. Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions also apply to any subsequent revision, whether notified or not.

18) Unless stated, Standard network charges apply to text entries.

19) Entrants may be contacted via email or phone or text message by Gaydio and its partners. To opt-out please email optout@gaydio.co.uk

20) Competition Prizes are subject to partner conditions as applicable.

21) Gaydio or co-partner cannot be held responsible for delayed or undelivered items that are posted, including but not limited to tickets, wristbands or other entry mechanisms

22) Gaydio or co-partner Is not liable for any expenses incurred by competition entrants and winners related to the provision of this prize.

23) Competitions may be shared across the Gaydio Network. This includes Gaydio in any of the cities we currently broadcast in, under the Gaydio brand on FM or DAB irrespective of the operating company. This also may include, but not limited to, online (including app, website and third party outlets) and via our website and social media.

24) If Gaydio or co-partner is unable to gain contact to the winner and/or the prize is not accepted within 7 days, the prize will be forfeited.

25) Where a prize is for an event, winners may be sent tickets via post or email supplied on the entrant form. Prizes may also be via a guest list or need to be collected in person. Where collection is in person, this will be listed in the additional T&C's below.

26) Prize providers will have their own Terms & Conditions which will always be available up on request. These are the same terms & conditions as a customer who may buy the product being given away. By accepting any prize, you also agree to these

27) Where Gaydio is not the promoter and/or prizes are provided by a third party, Gaydio accept no responsibility if the prize is not delivered. Gaydio will make all reasonable efforts to help resolve non-delivery or delays or other prize related issues, but in entering the competition you acknowledge and accept that Gaydio ultimately is not at fault should such a situation arise.

28) Competitions, prize draws or similar may take place in a single geographic location or across the Gaydio network of stations (which may also include third party radio stations or platforms). This may affect the overall number of entries received and should be taken into account by participants when entering draws.

29) Additional terms and conditions may apply, as below, for specific competitions. Where there is a conflict between the general terms and conditions and specific terms relating to competitions, Gaydio will be solely responsible for deciding which terms take priority.

ALCOTRAZ INSTAGRAM PRIZE DRAW

Entry routes and costs
1. Entries are restricted to one entry per person.
2. The online competition is promoted across all of Gaydio's broadcast locations: London, Manchester, Brighton, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Bristol, Newcastle, Liverpool, Sheffield, Leeds and Portsmouth.
3. Entry to the competition is available via the following routes:

4. Entry is free of charge.
Prize draw mechanic and how to win
1. Entrants must 'like' the specified instagram post on the Gaydio instagram account, tag three friends in the comments of the same post and be following the official Gaydio and Alcotraz instagram account as linked.
2. One entry will be accepted per instagram account
3. After the prize draw window closes 1 x winner(s) will be picked at random from all eligible entries.
4. Winner will be contacted via direct message to their instagram account from the official Gaydio instagram account. If your account is private, we will not be able to contact you via direct message. We will therefore contact you in the comment of the specified Instagram post with further instructions.
5. Winner must respond within 24 hours of being contacted to redeem their prize, otherwise specific prize will be forfeited and another winner will be chosen.
6. Winner must provide their full name and email address in order to redeem their prize
7. Winner consents to their contact details being passed to Homobloc and We Are Indigo PR in order to redeem their prize
Entry period
1. Entries must be submitted during the following entry period:
2. From Thursday 10th October 2024 at 17:00 (the "start time") to Friday 18th October 2024 at 10:00 ("end time").
3. Entries received before the start time or after the end time will be invalid.

The prize
1. One winner will receive 4 x tickets to Alcotraz at any UK location (Bristol, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Liverpool, Brighton)
2. This is a 'bring your own' experience. For a group of 4 we’d recommend 'smuggling in' 1 x 70cl bottle of spirit.
3. Booking is subject to venue availability and blackout dates/times may apply
4. Gaydio reserve the right to exchange, amend or cancel the prize at any time.
5. Prize does not include any extras, including and not limited to accommodation, travel and refreshments.
6. Tickets will be supplied to the prize draw entrants name only who may be required to show ID at collection
7. Valid ID is required to enter the venue
8. Prize is non-transferable and can not be exchanged for a monetary value
9. Winner and guests must all be aged 18 years or older – ID may be required.

Competition Mechanic
1. To enter the competition, a listener must complete the form on the landing page, answering all questions to the best of their ability.
2. When the competition end time is passed and within 28 days, 1 winner to the competition will be selected at random from all eligible and correct entries.
3. Gaydio reserve the right to select another winner without notice.
Entry Period
1. Entries must be submitting during the following entry period: From 00:01 on Monday 28th October 2024 (the "start time") to 23:59 on Sunday 10th November 2024 ("end time").
2. Entries submitted before the start time or after the end time will be invalid.

2. If any of the winning entrants do not respond to a phone call or email from Gaydio within 7 days of contact, the winner will forfeit the prize and another prize winner will be selected.

1. Two tickets to see The Nutcracker at Birmingham Hippodrome at 1pm on Sunday 14th December 2024
2. An overnight stay for two people in one double room at The Grand Hotel, Birmingham with breakfast included - to be taken on either Saturday 13th December or Sunday 14th December, subject to availability and approval from Birmingham Royal Ballet.
3. Complimentary cocktail for two people at Madeleine Bar, The Grand Hotel on the evening of stay.
4. The prize DOES NOT include any extras, including but not limited to flight or other transport, spending money, additional activities as well as food or drink that isn't detailed in the prize.
5. The prize is not transferable and cannot be redeemed in full or part for cash or any other alternative prize.

The prize and the terms
1. 1. Two (2) round-trip economy class flights from London to Chicago, courtesy of British Airways.
  2. A five (5) night stay at accommodations for two (2) at LGBTQIA+ friendly hotels in Chicago and local area. Three (3) nights downtown Chicago, and two (2) nights in one of the suburban areas.
  3. Activities in Chicago, Chicago’s North Shore, and Oak Park, including, but not limited to, museum visits, architectural tours, and other city/suburban excursions (final itinerary and details will be confirmed once the winner has selected their travel dates).
2. The prize DOES NOT include any extras to what’s been stated, transfers, spending money, meals, ground transportation, travel insurance, and any other expenses not explicitly included in the prize package.
3. The prize is not transferable and cannot be redeemed in full or part for cash or any other alternative prize.

FURTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS FROM THE PRIZE PROVIDER (ENJOY ILLINOIS):

Travel Details

The winner will work with Enjoy Illinois to confirm specific travel dates, subject to availability and blackout periods. The trip must be booked and completed within 12 months from the date the winner is notified, or the prize will be forfeited. Peak travel times, including holidays, may be excluded.

Prize Restrictions

The winner must claim their prize within 30 days of being notified. Flights and accommodations are subject to availability and blackout dates, including holidays and peak travel times. The prize is non-transferable, and no cash alternative will be offered. The winner is responsible for any additional costs, including meals, ground transportation, travel insurance, and any other expenses not explicitly included in the prize package.

Winner Notification

The winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries received during the giveaway period. They will be notified via email or phone and must respond within seven (7) days to claim their prize. If the winner does not respond within this timeframe, an alternative winner will be selected.

Publicity

By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to participate in reasonable publicity and promotional activities related to the giveaway, including but not limited to photos, interviews, and social media features.

Liability

Enjoy Illinois, Gaydio, and their partners accept no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury, or disappointment incurred or suffered by the winner or their guest as a result of entering the giveaway or accepting the prize.

Modification

Enjoy Illinois and Gaydio reserve the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the giveaway in the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond their reasonable control.

General Conditions

By entering the giveaway, participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and the decisions of the organizers, which shall be final and binding in all respects.

Additional Considerations:

Health and Safety Requirements

Due to potential health and travel restrictions (e.g., due to COVID-19), the winner and their guest must comply with any requirements set by airlines, hotels, or local authorities in both the UK and the US (e.g., vaccinations, masks, tests, etc.).

Travel Documentation

The winner and their guest are responsible for ensuring they have valid passports and any necessary visas to travel to the United States. No extensions will be given for failure to secure necessary documentation.

Prize Limitations

The flights will be booked in economy class; upgrades or changes to travel class are at the winner’s expense. Additional nights of accommodation beyond the package will be the responsibility of the winner. Excursions or activities included in the itinerary that are missed or not utilized are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Force Majeure Clause

In the event that the giveaway or the prize is disrupted due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the organizers' control, including but not limited to natural disasters, terrorism, or pandemic-related restrictions, the organizers reserve the right to substitute the prize with an alternative of equal or greater value, or to cancel or postpone the giveaway without liability.

Guest Restrictions

The winner’s guest must also be 18 years of age or older. Both the winner and guest may be required to provide identification and sign a release form before travel arrangements are confirmed.

Data Privacy

Any personal data collected as part of the entry process will be used only in accordance with applicable data protection laws and will not be shared with third parties except as necessary to administer the giveaway and prize fulfillment.

Tax Responsibility

The winner is solely responsible for any taxes that may arise from winning the prize, including any potential income taxes in the UK or the US.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is not included in the prize package, and the winner and their guest are strongly advised to purchase their own comprehensive travel insurance policy to cover medical, trip cancellation, and other potential travel issues.

Age Verification

The winner and their guest may be required to provide proof of age upon claiming the prize. Failure to provide this documentation may result in disqualification.

Disqualification Clause

The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant if they suspect fraudulent activity, manipulation, or breach of the terms and conditions.
