The Pieces with Bimini
Tuesday, 3 June 2025 - 35 minutes
Jaguar is not just one of the UK’s most exciting dance music talent – she represents what the future of dance music could be.
From her acclaimed show on BBC Radio 1 (which has been awarded Best Radio Sow at DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards) her UTOPIA club night which aims to create a safe space for queer people in the party scene, Jaguar puts her morals and beliefs at the forefront of her work.
She is also the founder of The Jaguar Foundation (a partnership with Ministry of Sound and Sony Music UK Social Justice Fund), which published a groundbreaking report on the state of gender equality in UK dance music. The foundation also offers free production and leadership causes aimed at female, trans and non-binary teenagers.
On this episode of The Pieces, Bimini and Jaguar talk about the importance of fixing the gender imbalance in dance music, the lack of representation and creating more accessibility. They also talk about the challenges faced by emerging artists in the current economic climate and the creation of Jaguar’s label Utopia.
