As part of Bally Singh's South Asian Heritage Month series on Gaydio, Eastenders star Balvinder Sopal joined him for a special conversation about representation, allyship and her remarkable career.

Balvinder reflected on playing the much-loved Suki Panesar, why authentic South Asian representation on screen matters, and revealed how she once had a script changed to better reflect South Asian culture. She also spoke about allyship and looked back on making Strictly Come Dancing history by performing the show's first-ever Bhangra routine.

The interview marked the final instalment of Bally's South Asian Heritage Month series, which has celebrated queer South Asian voices and allies throughout July, highlighting the importance of representation and community.
