Amber Sings Ella: Celebrating the First Lady of Song is a heartfelt tribute to the timeless legacy of Ella Fitzgerald.
Showcasing some of the finest talent from Liverpool’s vibrant jazz scene, this performance offers an evocative journey through the many eras of Ella’s illustrious career.
Join acclaimed vocalist Amber Kuti and her exceptional ensemble, under the musical direction of Alex McDowall, as they honour Fitzgerald’s extraordinary repertoire. From beloved standards such as “All of Me” and “Dream a Little Dream” to hidden gems like “Someone to Watch Over Me” and “Just One of Those Things”, this show is a celebration of one of the most iconic voices in jazz history.
“What I got was no mere tribute band, it wasn’t a pale impersonation, it went beyond these. Instead, and in keeping with the best jazz traditions, I was treated to a passionate interpretation of Ella’s music by a group of musicians that clearly loved and admired Ella.”
Gary Dougherty, The Broken Spine (Sept 2025)
